Terms of Service

Plain-language summary. A formal version will replace this once a lawyer has read it.

Intro

These are the basic terms for using baki.sh, a YouTube reading companion. The brief version is below. By installing the extension or paying for Pro, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.

What we provide

baki.sh is a Chrome extension that summarizes YouTube videos using LLMs. It runs against YouTube transcripts and a small backend we host. We try to keep it working; we don't promise it always will.

What you agree to

  • Don't use baki.sh to scrape, abuse, or resell our backend's output.
  • Don't try to bypass rate limits, billing, or our anti-abuse measures (see /privacy).
  • You're responsible for what you do with the summaries baki.sh generates. They're a starting point, not gospel.
  • Don't use baki.sh on content you're not allowed to view.

Pro plan

Pro is €3/mo or €29/yr, billed via Stripe. Cancel any time from the extension popup. 30-day no-questions refund: email [email protected] and you'll get it back.

Anti-abuse

We deploy rate-limiting, captcha challenges, and degraded service for traffic that matches automated-scraping patterns. If you think you've been caught by mistake, email [email protected]. Human review within 48h.

Liability

We do our best, but baki.sh is provided as-is. Summaries may be wrong. Don't make consequential decisions based on a 30-second TL;DR without checking the source. We're not liable for what you do with what baki.sh tells you.

Changes

If we change these terms in any meaningful way, we'll mention it on /transparency before it takes effect.
